  1. It was so fun getting to see Minoh house, and I loved seeing all the nature jubilee park had. One of the facts I was interested in was when one of the houses had burnt down in the night and I still wonder how it could of happened?. Seeing all the nature and getting to see Minoh house where my favorite things. Minoh house had quite a lot of interesting things to look at inside and I think everyone liked the design as well, I think Minoh house is great.Sara.

  2. I never ever new the Minoh house even existed. It was amazing to see the big building and go inside it.On my calendar art I made the colour of the house brown but now i know it is green and a creamy yellow.my favourite part was seeing where all the old houses used to be and getting to see what was left of the brick wall of that house. Did anyone see that big pine cone tree on the right of the brick wall, it was HUGE.I had a great time, I'm glad it was not raining that today then we would on had to cancel the trip :( . I had a lot of fun and what even made it better was my mum was there so i got to share what i had learnt with her.I had the best time EVER and I hope we could do it again.Caitlin H

  3. I really enjoyed walking around Normandale seeing all the places in Normandale. My favourite thing on the trip was going inside the awesome Minoh house for the second time. I also enjoyed talking to Rosemary McLennan and asking her some questions about her book and about early Normandale. I also liked going through the little tracks and paths . I had a great time going adventuring and hope to go again!

  5. I really enjoyed going to the Hutt Minoh Friendship house. It was a long way to get to the house, but it was worth it! The thing that really stood out was probably the Japanese cultural items, that were inside the house, such as the origami, and the wall hangings. When we were walking through the track from Harbour View to Minoh House, there were signs every so often that told us about the houses that were there where we were standing and the houses histories. What was also very Interesting was when we were walking along the track, we saw a wall all covered up with growth that had originaly been part of the edge of the garden well thats what i thought it was. The trip would have been awesome as it was but what made it even more awesome was that Rosemary Mclennen came with us and gave us some more information that we didn't know!
    Altogether it was a blast!

  9. Going to the Hutt Minoh House was a great trip. Rosemary Mclennan was really clever to have known all that research she shared with us! She wrote the book called 'Glimpses into Early Normandale'. She came along with us on our trip to Jubilee park and let us inside Minoh House. I really liked the Japanese dolls and the decorations around the house and on the walls, but my favourite thing I saw was the table with broken glass from the cutlery and the plates that the owners of the house had buried stuck together so it made a lovely pattern. The big windows really stood out. I wish I had windows like that! When we were walking on a track we saw signs about the old houses. Rosemary read them out and explained it. I'm really glad that it rain because otherwise we wouldn't have been able to go! All in all it was a blast. Thanks to all the teachers and the parents that participated

My favourite part of the trip through normandale history to the minoh house, would probably be meeting rosemary mclennan in person, and also getting to see all the japanse cultral dolls and quilts inside the minoh house . After the trip i was really poked and had sore ancles, but other than that i had a blast.

  16. Walking to Minoh house was a great experience because we stopped and listened to what Rosemary had to say about the houses that once stood there. There was a stone wall that was once a garden wall which I thought was fascinating considering it is probaly about 100 years old. Getting to go inside Minoh House was probaly everyones favourite part about the trip. It was mine too. Its had major renovations which cost a lot of money, $400,000. They also had a retaining wall put along the driveway because of a massive landslip. I liked the fabric on some of the walls, the China dolls and the broken China mosaic. I also liked the history of the house and also where the China dolls were kept, which was formally a kitchen! Thank you Rosemary for sharing your information and time with us.

  22. Our trip to Minoh House was very interesting. I never realised that there had been so many homesteads in the bush area around Minoh House. The walk was ok but the rest was fun to see. I learnt a lot about the area that I live in. I saw so many cool things inside the house. I enjoyed it and probably everyone else did to.
